Our alarm ‘shocking’ us out of bed, running around to get yourself and potentially the kids and partner out the door or ready for homeschooling, deadlines, phone calls, bursting inbox…no time to eat in all that chaos, so let’s just a shot of espresso to get some energy to handle it all.
If this is your kind of day you are working against yourself. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Your mum was right. Why? Because it sets you up for the day, esp. if you eat plenty of good quality protein instead of fast carbs in the form of cereal and orange juice. It will give you energy, balance, patience and focus and don’t we need plenty of that to help us through our busy days? I know I do.
My advice to my clients with digestive issues and other health concerns is to eat a good meal with 1-2 hours of waking up, have 3 balanced meals in the day. Eating enough so you don’t need snack in between and keep at least 12h between the last meal and the first meal of the day, maybe even longer.
Give it a try and see how you feel.
